Savannah Chrisley Shares "Heartache" Moment After Getting Custody of Siblings Grayson and Chloe

Savannah Chrisley shared one of the most heartbreaking parts of her parents' legal battle.
The Growing Up Chrisley star explained that she had a tough conversation with brother Grayson, 18, and niece Chloe, 11, after parents Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022 and began their prison sentences in January 2023.
"I got custody of my brother and sister," Savannah shared at the Republican National Convention on July 16. "And you don’t know heartache until you look two children in the eyes and say, ‘I don’t know when mom and dad are coming home.’"
At the convention, the 26-year-old reflected on how her family has been "consumed with a different kind of drama" than they're used to in reality TV.
"72600019 and 72601019," she noted. "These may be just numbers to you. But to me, they’re my whole heart. These numbers are my parents’ identification numbers in our federal prison system."
But despite her family's challenges, raising her two siblings has also taught Savannah more about herself.
"I've always been super hard, like, 'I'm fine, so nothing else bothers me,'" she told E! News in October. "But I've learned how soft I really am and I think that's something I've always wanted."
Savannah’s been caring for Grayson and Chloe—who Todd and Julie adopted in 2016—since their dad was sentenced to 12 years behind bars and their mom was sentenced to serve seven in their tax fraud case.
However, Julie's sentence was overturned in June, when a three-judge panel determined there wasn't enough evidence to show she had been involved in the scheme—which began in 2006—before 2007.
"With this step behind us, we can now challenge the couple's convictions based on the illegal search that started the case," the family's counsel told E! News in a statement, seemingly referencing their misconduct case that was settled earlier this year. "The family appreciates the continued support they've received throughout this process. And they're hopeful for more good news in the future."
